Description:
Construction of 12 Kms of tunnel within which 8 Kms represents the main tunnel from the dam to the power plant.  The tunnel encompasses a vertical drop of 300 Mts including the height of the relief tower between the dam and the power plant.  The construction of the power plant generating 350 Mwts also formed part of the project.

The tunnel encompasses a vertical drop of 300 Mts including the height of the relief tower between the dam and the power plant.  The construction of the power plant generating 350 Mwts also formed part of the project.




Excavation and installation of a 2 Mts diameter steel water lateral 80 Kms long.  This lateral is connected to an existing underwater main in order to supply the city of Cumana and the island of Margarita with additional water.




The mining of over 1 million tons of Bauxite using scrapers, bulldozers and excavators, also included in the scope of work was trucking the Bauxite to the shipping port.
